Traditional + Fun Fall Wedding in Portland

November 8, 2019

I think it would be impossible for anyone to not fall in love with Jill & Brendan. They are two of the funniest, kindest souls I have ever met, and photographing their wedding was an absolute joy!

These two lovebirds chose to wed in a traditional ceremony in a sweet little chapel in Portland, called Oak Pioneer Church. From the magical moment when Brendan laid eyes on his bride to every guest joining together to sing a beautiful hymn, the ceremony was so special and intimate.

Despite being November, we lucked out with the most amazing sunny weather! It was warm with a breeze and absolutely perfect, with fall leaves still clinging to the trees. The colors for the flowers that Jill chose melded with the fall tones perfectly.

The reception at the Hopkins Forest Demonstration area was so fun and laid back! They brought in Chipotle and & Chic-Fil-A for a tasty meal that didn't leave anyone hungry. I love that because they wanted to make sure they ate, they sat in their car before their grand entrance and had their fill! The guests all sang Country Road together as a tribute to the bride, who loves the song, and Brendan's speech to their family members was so sweet and heartwarming. As the icing on the literal cake, Brendan completely missed feeding Jill  during the cake cutting and her bite-to-be ended up on the floor! She got another one, but it was such a funny moment to top off a reception full of laughs.

Thank you so much for trusting me to photograph your special day, you two! Hooray for the new Mr. & Mrs. Pike!
